A 3 metre sideboard plays in a league of its own

Where conventional outdoor furniture ends at around a metre and a half, this made-to-measure piece keeps going: a 3 metre sideboard that runs as one continuous, calm line along the entire side of the terrace. The result convinces twice over – on the outside a clear, straight-lined furniture front in steel grey, on the inside storage for everything a generous terrace needs: seat cushions, tablecloths, tableware, barbecue accessories and more. Overlength here is not a gesture but a function: one piece replaces a whole collection of improvised storage.

60 x 300 x 90 cm: the dimensions make the difference

With 3 metres of width, 60 cm of depth and 90 cm of height, this piece is planned precisely for its place. The height of 90 cm turns the top into a genuinely usable surface – a buffet on barbecue evenings, a staging post while laying the table, a pedestal for planters. The 60 cm depth swallows even bulky cushions from lounge furniture, while the sheer length means everything really does disappear behind a single front – instead of into three different boxes and crates scattered around the terrace. Proportions matter too: at this length the low, wide format keeps the piece calm rather than dominant, a horizon line rather than a wall.

Tip-On, Soft-Close and a ventilated interior

The doors open with a light push thanks to Tip-On – entirely without handles, which keeps the long front perfectly calm – and close gently with Soft-Close. The integrated ventilation grille with insect screen provides a constant exchange of air inside while reliably keeping wasps, spiders and other uninvited lodgers out. Cushions and textiles stay fresh, and the interior smells of summer rather than storage. Details like these decide whether outdoor furniture is a pleasure or a chore in daily use – here they work silently in the background.

HPL by Trespa: weatherproof, UV-resistant, rainproof

The sideboard is made from HPL (high-pressure laminate) by Trespa – the material that defines all DESIGA products. It is weatherproof, UV-resistant and rainproof: the steel grey surface does not fade even after years of full sun, and rain washes dirt away. Painting, oiling or impregnating is never required – the material is calculated for a service life of around 50 years. A piece of furniture that is allowed to stand outside permanently without ageing. Snow in January, thunderstorms in July, sprinklers all season: none of it calls for any reaction beyond an occasional wipe.

Steel grey to match pergola and house wall

The colour was chosen deliberately to match the pergola and the house wall – the piece fits in as though it had been planned together with the building. That is precisely the strength of our made-to-measure garden cabinets and sideboards: length, depth and height follow your terrace, not the other way round. Whether it is a niche, a projecting wall or exactly three metres of free elevation – the sideboard is planned around your situation, down to the last centimetre. The terrace stops adapting to the furniture; the furniture starts adapting to the terrace.
