The outdoor sauna with panoramic glazing stands in Mallorca and unites two opposites: the dark, precise shell on the outside and the warm, pale wooden room within. Between them, nothing but a wide, uninterrupted glass front – and the view into the Mediterranean garden. Everything else about the building exists to serve exactly that moment when the heat rises and the garden turns into scenery.

One glass front between heat and garden

The generous glazing is what turns a sauna session into a panorama experience: Mediterranean green at midday, low evening light later, a starry sky after dark – all of it watched from the sauna bench, in the heat, with the world outside carrying on quietly and not a single window frame interrupting the picture. A closed cabin offers the same temperatures; it cannot offer this. The glass front is not an extra here but the actual idea of the building, and the dark shell around it works like the mount around a picture: it steps back so the view can step forward.

Deep black under the Mallorcan sun: a question of material

Black, of all colours, makes the highest demands under Mediterranean conditions: intense UV radiation, spells of heat, salt-laden air. That is why we use only materials that are proven against exactly these forces – first among them HPL (high-pressure laminate) by Trespa, the material we rely on for robust, long-lived and genuinely low-maintenance outdoor builds of every kind. The black does not bleach out and the surface stays sealed – so you spend your time admiring the garden through the glass, not impregnating a façade. With this sauna, you never have to – not in the first summer and not in the twentieth.

Wood inside, HPL outside: the proven pairing

Inside, the wooden lining creates the warm, quiet sauna atmosphere; outside, the weatherproof HPL shell protects the building – a combination made for permanent, year-round operation in the open. Between sauna heat within and weather without, the construction stays dimensionally stable; the material is designed for a service life of around 50 years. Two materials, each doing exactly what it is best at – one for the senses, one for the decades. It is the pairing behind all garden saunas from DESIGA, whatever their size or setting.

Delivered and installed – even on the island

Our saunas are manufactured in Germany and delivered across Europe – Mallorca included. Our own team handles the installation on site; you handle the first infusion. The shade is yours to choose as well: over 250 HPL colours and décors are available for the outer shell, from the deep black shown here to Corten steel décor. Free colour samples are sent to your home in advance, so the decision is made next to your own walls and planting rather than from a chart.
