This garden shed with outdoor shower was specifically designed for a pool area where technical equipment and user space needed to be clearly separated. The structure is designed to wrap around the corner: behind the sliding door on the left is all the pool equipment, whilst on the right there is a sheltered area for showering outdoors. This creates a clear technical room within the garden shed, whilst also providing a dedicated space for showering after a swim – right by the pool, without any additional structures in the garden.
On the right-hand side, the outdoor shower is integrated into the wall. The shower pipes and fittings run into the technical area on the left, where they are neatly installed alongside the rest of the pool equipment, protected from the elements. From the outside, the structure appears calm and enclosed; to the right, a recess opens up where one can shower outdoors without being on display.
To ensure the wood in the shower area remains permanently protected, the interior surface of the garden shed around the outdoor shower is clad in HPL. The material is moisture-resistant, easy to clean and echoes the clean design language of the exterior façade. Where the toughened safety glass is fitted, the HPL cladding has been deliberately omitted – allowing plenty of natural light to flood into the shower area without compromising on privacy.
The result is a garden shed with an outdoor shower that is tailored to the pool in both function and design: on the left, the pool equipment disappears behind the sliding door; on the right, a bright, sheltered outdoor shower area is created.
No impregnating, sanding or painting - never again thanks to HPL!
