A bin store with parcel box combines two jobs that arise at almost every entrance: wheelie bins should disappear from view, and parcels need a safe place to land when nobody is home. This project answers both in a single, straight-lined body – a four-compartment HPL unit in grey, in which one compartment has been converted into a post station with an integrated letterbox and a parcel drop for the courier. The remaining three compartments house 240-litre wheelie bins. Instead of three separate objects in front of the house, one calm, cubic front settles into the front garden like a piece of furniture.
More and more customers plan the parcel function in from the start – with good reason. The integrated parcel compartment sits exactly where couriers pass anyway, is accessible from the street and protects deliveries from rain and prying eyes. The courier leaves the parcel sheltered; you collect it whenever it suits you – no notification card, no detour to a collection point. Unlike a freestanding parcel station, the compartment sits within the joint lines of the unit, and we plan its size and hinge around your actual parcel volume. Combined, as here, with a letterbox and bell panel, it becomes a complete receiving station in one body.
Three of the four compartments each take a large 240-litre bin – enough for general waste, paper and recycling. Every bin has its own door, so bags go in without any manoeuvring and each bin rolls out comfortably on collection day. The fourth compartment handles the mail. The view stays tidy: no screwed-on boxes, no makeshift shelves – one continuous front with clean, even joints.
The unit is made from HPL (high-pressure laminate) by Trespa, the core material of all DESIGA products. It is rain-proof, frost-proof and UV-resistant – the colour does not fade even after years in the sun. With an impact resistance of over 40 newtons, HPL shrugs off hail and the knock of a bin alike. And because the surface is closed and easy-care, rain is enough to wash dirt away: painting, oiling or sealing is permanently unnecessary. The calculated service life is around 50 years.
Whether a unit works in daily life is decided by its construction. The doors here open smoothly and never strike the wall or the neighbouring bin; adjustable feet level out unevenness in the paving. During planning we account for the dimensions of your bins, the swing of the doors and the route to the street on collection day – and for whether the unit stands free or meets a wall. The result fits your forecourt exactly, not the other way round.
Two, three or four compartments, for 120-litre or 240-litre bins: we plan modern bin stores in every size around your bin count and your space, with extras such as the parcel drop shown here, a letterbox or a doorbell worked in on request. For the surface you choose from over 250 HPL colours and décors – from the grey shown here via white and steel grey through to wood and Corten steel looks – and free colour samples are posted to you in advance. How versatile the post-and-waste combination can be is also shown by our reference with a flush-integrated letterbox in black.
Like all DESIGA products, this unit is developed in-house and manufactured in Germany. Our own team delivers a bin store of this size and installs it exactly where it will stand, so letterbox, parcel drop and doors work perfectly from day one.
