Mechanical durability: Why your DESIGA® garden shed handles everyday life in the garden with ease

In the hustle and bustle of everyday garden life, the façade is constantly exposed to mechanical stress – whether from hailstones, balls being kicked about by children playing, or the careless handling of garden tools. Whilst conventional materials often end up with dents, cracks or deep scratches, the DESIGA® garden shed features a protective cladding designed for extreme durability.
Impact and shock resistance: The ‘hail test’ for your outdoor area
The mechanical resilience of the surfaces we use is impressive: with a tested impact resistance of over 40 Newtons, the material can withstand even massive, localised impacts. In practice, this means exceptional protection against the forces of nature, such as heavy hail. Whilst thin metal walls or soft wood often sustain permanent damage during extreme weather events, the architectural highlight in your garden retains its flawless form. This stability ensures that your DESIGA® garden shed still looks as good as new, even after a stormy summer.
Scratch resistance: highly resistant to branches and tools
It is often the little mishaps that spoil the appearance of a modern garden shed – a branch scraping against it in the wind or a shovel leaning against it. The Trespa® panels used in our garden sheds have a certified scratch resistance of at least 3.5 Newtons. This technical specification guarantees a surface that is immune to the typical signs of wear and tear found outdoors. The highly compacted structure prevents mechanical impacts from penetrating deep into the material and leaving unsightly marks.
Maximum material density: stability through sheer mass
The foundation of this indestructibility is the material’s enormous density. With a bulk density of approx. 1,350 kg/m³, the façade is extremely compact and heavy. By way of comparison: this makes the material significantly denser than most hardwoods. This high density gives the entire designer garden shed exceptional torsional rigidity and structural stability. Nothing rattles, nothing vibrates – the building feels as solid as it looks. You are not investing in a temporary fix, but in a solid structural solution designed to last for half a century.
