High-tech for your garden: Why the facade of a DESIGA garden shed never shows its age

Choosing a DESIGA garden shed is also a choice for durability. Whilst conventional materials begin to show signs of wear and tear after a few years, the appearance of our garden sheds remains virtually unchanged for decades. The Trespa® Meteon® panels we use form the basis of this durability.

EBC surface technology: brilliance through electron beams

At the heart of this innovative strength lies the patented Electron Beam Curing (EBC) technology. In a specialised process, the decorative surface is enhanced using electron beam curing. This process ensures that the panel retains its outstanding appearance for many years and is not affected by either intense UV radiation or moisture. It acts as a technological shield that preserves the vibrancy of the colour and protects the façade against ageing.

Non-porous sealant for a maintenance-free lifestyle

A key benefit for you in your day-to-day gardening routine is the smooth, sealed surface structure. A microscopic view clearly shows that dirt deposits, algae or moss have virtually no chance of adhering to the façade. Whereas other surfaces become rough and literally ‘suck in’ dirt particles, the non-porous sealant used in DESIGA® ensures that the next rain shower simply washes most of the particles away. This makes your garden shed virtually maintenance-free.

Molecular stability: A material that no longer reacts

The basis of this indestructibility lies in its physical structure: under high pressure and temperature, individual layers of fibres are impregnated with thermosetting resins. During curing, irreversible, cross-linked chemical bonds are formed. The result is an absolutely stable, non-reactive material. Unlike ordinary wood or metal, this composite no longer ‘expands’ – it does not warp, swell or crack.

Chemical resistance: protection against aggressive environmental influences

Even in areas with high levels of air pollution or near industrial estates, the cladding remains flawless. The panels demonstrate excellent resistance to aggressive influences such as sulphur dioxide (SO₂) and achieve top marks (levels 4–5) under the stringent DIN 50018 test standard. Even acid rain or other chemical residues in the air leave no negative marks on the panel surface. Your garden shed is therefore equipped to withstand not only the elements but also the challenges of modern urban environments.
