Modular system: dimensions, doors and canopies
Interior organisation and modular add-on modules
Lighting design, special-purpose uses and extended living spaces
Mix of materials, façade design and integration into the site
Our modular system is not a rigid product, but a modern platform. By intelligently combining our wall, roof and glass elements, we create garden sheds that are precisely tailored to your plot and your lifestyle. This flexibility enables us to respond to any architectural challenge whilst ensuring the proven DESIGA® quality in every detail.
We offer you flexibility that goes far beyond standard dimensions. Every project is planned down to the last centimetre: depths range from 80 cm to 500 cm, and widths from 180 cm up to 15 m. Whether sliding doors, pergolas, timber storage or privacy screens – all components are positioned exactly where they offer the greatest functional and aesthetic benefit, for example by aligning the door with existing walkways.
Depending on the available space and intended use, we select the appropriate access system: the standard sliding door with a 111 cm clear opening is suitable for classic use as a tool shed. The XXL sliding door, at 132 cm, offers space for wide garden furniture or sports equipment. For maximum clearance – for example, for ride-on mowers – the double sliding door with a 200 cm opening is available. The hinged door (swing door) with a 60–90 cm opening is the ideal solution for very narrow garden sheds where there is insufficient space for a sliding element to move sideways.
Expand your sheltered outdoor space with bespoke roof structures: for a modern, floating look, we create cantilevered canopies without columns, with overhangs of up to 70 cm. For large-scale canopies up to 5 × 5 m, we use pergolas with columns – ideal as a lounge area or outdoor kitchen. The rear or side walls of the pergola can be fully enclosed with wall elements or left partially open to ensure wind protection and privacy.

The interior of your home can be structured using the system’s own partition walls. This allows for customised separation of uses – whether as a multi-occupancy solution with separate compartments in apartment blocks or as a functional separation between a clean workshop and the area for bicycles, garden tools or rubbish bins.
To avoid disrupting the basic cubic form, we integrate functional extensions flush with the building structure. The integrated firewood storage provides a neat finish and protection for your firewood – by integrating it into the wall structure, the minimalist design is preserved. Tool benches provide discreet storage space for tools directly in the external wall, ideal for quick access to secateurs, hoses or small tools without having to enter the house. Our wall elements can also be used outdoors as standalone privacy screens to create a uniform design across your property.

The flexibility of our system goes beyond dimensions. Through carefully selected material combinations, we create spaces for specialised requirements – from light-filled workspaces to highly functional shelters.
For uses that require natural daylight, we offer fully glazed wall panels. Entire panels made of high-quality ESG safety glass transform the classic garden shed into a bright studio or a hobby workshop. The frameless integration of the glass surfaces emphasises the building’s clean lines and ensures a seamless connection between the interior and the garden.
Delicate potted plants require constant conditions in winter. Our system can be precisely tailored to this: by combining generous glazing for the necessary light with optional insulation, we create the thermal foundation. In conjunction with a frost monitor installed on site, this results in completely frost-free spaces – your plants overwinter safely and under optimal conditions, without taking up valuable space in your home.
The modular design also allows us to offer high-end solutions for animal inhabitants that blend perfectly into the overall appearance of your property. We build modern, insulated small animal shelters that go far beyond conventional stables. Instead of unsuitable makeshift solutions from specialist retailers, you receive a shelter that is precisely matched to your home and garden shed in terms of materials and colour.
Create a space for concentration, away from the hustle and bustle of the main house. Large glazed areas ensure maximum natural daylight, which boosts productivity and creates an inspiring working atmosphere. Combined with insulated interior fittings and an integrated heating solution, the garden house becomes an office that can be used all year round and operates as an energy-self-sufficient unit separate from the main house.
Our modular system can be configured to go far beyond the function of a mere storage space. Through a combination of thermal separation, generous glazing and custom dimensions, we lay the foundation for a fully functional guest house in your own garden. Thanks to flexible depths of up to 500 cm and variable widths, a fully-fledged sleeping area for two people can be easily integrated. Combined with our insulated wall structure and insulated floor system, this creates an indoor climate that ensures your guests enjoy a pleasant stay whatever the season.
The basic system provides the ideal framework for implementing technical installations according to your requirements: the design allows sufficient space for a compact kitchen unit, which can be installed on site. With appropriate preparation of the foundations, a shower and toilet can be retrofitted on site – our wall structure is optimised to accommodate on-site pipework. What serves as a guest house today can be used as a home office or private gym tomorrow – the basic structure remains flexible and retains its value. When laying the foundations, please ensure the necessary water and waste water connections are included to avoid the need for chiselling work later on. We would be happy to coordinate this with your specialist contractor.

The aesthetic impact of your garden shed or pergola is largely determined by the choice of materials. Our system allows for striking contrasts and harmonious integration into the existing surroundings of your property.
For lovers of industrial charm, we offer façade elements made from 2 mm thick genuine Corten steel. Over time, Corten steel develops a characteristic rust layer that acts as a protective coating and has a warm, earthy colour. As there are numerous elements such as privacy screens, planters or benches made from genuine Corten steel, the garden shed blends seamlessly into a harmonious garden ensemble.
Wooden slats are the ideal design element for organically softening the clean lines of the cubic forms. The use of high-quality wooden slats lends the structure a natural warmth and depth. At the same time, the slats block the view from the outside without hindering air circulation or completely closing off the space visually.
Wherever the inside or back of a wall is directly in view, double-sided cladding with HPL is the first choice. Whilst standard walls have a functional back, here you get a high-quality façade finish on both sides. This is particularly important for freestanding pergola lounges or outdoor kitchens – even when seated, you look out onto an aesthetically pleasing wall surface rather than the technical substructure.
A garden is rarely a perfectly flat surface. Our modular system really comes into its own where standard solutions reach their limits. Not every plot follows right angles – we create non-rectangular layouts that fit snugly against sloping plot boundaries or awkward nooks between the house wall and the fence. This precise fit allows you to transform previously unused ‘dead corners’ into valuable storage space or functional living areas.
Sloping sites or terraced gardens require special design approaches. We create two interconnected units at different levels (split-level). Such differences in level can be put to excellent use to create focal points – for example, through an integrated outdoor shower that functionally enhances the transition between the levels.
A garden shed is often installed on existing surfaces such as terraces, which frequently have a gradient of approx. 2% for drainage purposes. Standard levelling feet can compensate for unevenness to a certain extent – however, with a 2% gradient, the levelling feet’ capacity of approx. 6 cm is reached after just 3 m. For gradients exceeding 6 cm, we precisely adjust the garden shed during manufacture, ensuring that even height differences of 15 cm or more are accommodated with precision. The shed appears perfectly level, whilst the base follows the contours of the ground.
In addition to levelling the base, we offer full flexibility regarding the upper edge of the structure: we can adjust the height of the garden shed to over 3 m if required. This allows, for example, for a continuous canopy over the entrance, which flows seamlessly into the garden shed without any visual break. If we are building on an existing site with a steep gradient, the slope must be measured precisely in advance – we are happy to assist you with this to ensure that on-site assembly is carried out professionally.

The area around the pool presents its own unique requirements in terms of technology, comfort and aesthetics. Our system makes it possible to combine these different needs into a single, harmonious structure.
The foundation is the specialised pool technical unit. This is where all the filtration and control technology is housed – right where it is needed. We offer solutions that go beyond a simple shed: on request, we can supply the housing soundproofed and insulated. The result is a whisper-quiet technical centre that does not disturb the relaxation area by the pool and protects the components from temperature spikes.
For greater convenience in everyday pool life, the technical unit can be expanded in a modular fashion. Additional storage space for pool robots, loungers, cushions and cleaning accessories keeps the terrace tidy. Integrate a separate area as a changing room right by the water. With the appropriate on-site installation of water and waste water, we create fully-fledged rooms for toilets and washbasins – ensuring the outdoor area remains self-sufficient and the main house stays dry.
A particular highlight is the integrated outdoor shower: the entire water supply and plumbing are housed weatherproof and out of sight inside the pool house. Using a privacy screen clad on both sides, we create an aesthetic and secluded shower cubicle in the outdoor area, directly adjacent to the module.
Generous openings or adjoining pergolas transform the pool house into a social hub. Create a modern lounge under a pergola measuring up to 5 × 5 m, offering space for high-quality garden furniture, a dining table or an outdoor kitchen. Wide openings in the structure blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. From the compact, soundproofed technical centre (“Pure Tech”) to the extended living space with changing room or bathroom (“Comfort Plus”) and the integrated outdoor shower with concealed technology (“Wellness Oasis”), right through to the large pergola lounge for seating areas and an outdoor kitchen (“Lifestyle Lounge”) – our system grows with your needs.
