Rubbish bin enclosure with letterbox – two functions, one structure

A bin storage unit with a letterbox combines two items that would otherwise stand side by side at the boundary of the property: the bins and the letterbox. This project features a four-bin shelter for 240-litre bins in black, with a lockable letterbox flush-mounted into the front. Instead of a row of bins plus a freestanding letterbox post, the result is a single, linear structure – understated, tidy and positioned so precisely that it noticeably enhances the first impression of the house.

Four 240-litre bins behind separate doors

Behind the black front, there is space for four large 240-litre bins – sufficient for general waste, paper, organic waste and the recycling bin, even for larger households. Each bin is behind its own door and can be removed individually: On collection day, you simply roll out the bin that is due to be emptied, without disturbing the neighbouring bins. If you need less storage space, you can opt for the same solution in a 2- or 3-bin configuration – also available for 120-litre bins.

Integrated, lockable letterbox for shorter distances

The letterbox is lockable and integrated directly into the unit. This shortens the distance for the postman: post is delivered at the boundary of the property without having to make a detour to the front door – convenient for both parties, particularly in the case of open or spacious entrance areas. And because the letterbox is part of the front panel, there’s no need for separately bolted-on boxes or additional stands: a continuous façade with clean joints, where every function has its place. HPL from Trespa: weather-resistant and easy to maintain

The unit is made from HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) by Trespa – tried and tested for continuous outdoor use. The material is weather-resistant, UV-stable and frost-proof: the black surface does not fade in the sun, and rain washes away any dirt. There is no need for painting, waterproofing or touch-ups – it is estimated to have a lifespan of around 50 years. With an impact resistance of over 40 newtons, the unit can withstand the daily wear and tear of a busy driveway: from being bumped by a bin to withstanding hail.
