This white garden shed stands right next to the existing garage and makes use of the space in the front garden as additional storage. The structure has been positioned so that it sits in line with the front of the garage – visually, the garden shed thus appears as a natural extension of the garage rather than a shed that has been ‘added on’ later. Garden tools, bicycles and seasonal equipment are moved from the garage into the garden shed, leaving the driveway clear and tidy.
Thanks to its freestanding design, the white garden shed can be easily accessed from the courtyard side without having to plan additional paths through the garden. The clean lines and calm, white surface echo the design of the garage and blend harmoniously into the site.
A defining feature of this design is the corner glazing. It brings plenty of natural light into the interior without disrupting the calm effect of the white façade. From the outside, the white garden shed remains a clean-lined structure; inside, it creates a bright storage space where contents can be easily viewed. The glazing opens up the view towards the driveway and garden, making the garden shed a valuable component of the overall architecture despite its compact role.
Combined with the HPL façade, this creates a garden shed that fulfils two functions simultaneously: it extends the garage’s storage space and organises the view of the front garden without disrupting the existing aesthetic.
