This project in Aichach impressively demonstrates the advantages of individual planning. The challenge was to make optimal use of the limited space available between the property boundary and the residential building. As the area is not rectangular, a custom-made garden shed was developed with walls at angles of more or less than 90 degrees to each other. This precise adaptation to the shape of the plot allows maximum use of the space, which would not be possible with standard solutions. The building becomes significantly wider towards the rear, creating a considerable amount of space for the protected storage of garden accessories, while presenting a discreet and narrow appearance at the front.
In addition to its geometric adaptation, the property impresses with its subtle design coordination. The sliding door was deliberately placed on the short side of the building, giving the façade a calm and tidy appearance. From inside the house, the eye is drawn to the generous ESG glazing, which breaks up the solid appearance and creates transparency. Designed as a classic passageway, the building also functions as an architectural enclosure towards the garden. The choice of materials and lines harmonise perfectly with the existing pergola on the terrace. This before-and-after comparison illustrates how a custom-made garden shed can transform an unused niche into a high-quality, value-adding element of the outdoor area.
