A dark shell that makes the garden shine

Black is a deliberate choice here, not a fashion. Against the matt, light-absorbing surface, every leaf, every layer of snow and every evening sky appears more vivid – the building becomes a quiet frame for whatever the season is doing. And because the generous glazing sits in that dark frame, the difference between a sweat cabin and a wellness room becomes obvious: instead of staring at timber walls, you look out into your own garden – lush green in summer, snow-covered branches in winter.

The bio sauna heater: Finnish or gentle – you decide

The heart of the interior is the bio sauna heater. It gives you the freedom to choose your kind of session: classically Finnish with dry heat, or a gentler steam session at a lower temperature and higher humidity. The sauna adapts to how you feel on the day, not the other way round – and guests who find 90 degrees too much are looked after just as well as the purists. Light as a design element: RGB LED and indirect lighting

A special detail of the interior is the integrated RGB LED lighting in the backrests, together with indirect light guided downwards to softly underscore the resting area. The colour can follow your mood – from a warm candle-like tone to cool blue – and turns an evening session into an experience without ever dazzling – dimmed warmth for winding down, a cooler tone for a clear-headed start to the day. In a dark building, light becomes the second material: precise where it is needed, atmospheric where it may be.

The black shell in detail: HPL for permanent outdoor duty

The outer skin of HPL composite panels by Trespa is designed specifically for permanent outdoor use and shrugs off moisture and temperature swings – no small matter for a building that can hold 90 degrees inside while frost grips the outside, day after day through the heating season. The dark sauna building stays dimensionally stable and colour-fast for years, with no maintenance for the façade at all: no painting, no oiling, no re-treating. The material is engineered for a service life of around 50 years.

Everything from a single source

Our garden saunas are developed in-house and manufactured in Germany – building shell, glazing and sauna technology planned together as one coherent whole rather than assembled from unrelated parts. That is what makes the proportions calm and the details flush: one hand designs the outside and the inside, so the dark exterior and the warm interior speak the same language instead of merely sharing a roof.

Deep black shows this concept at its purest, yet the outer shell can be finished in any of over 250 HPL colours and décors. Free colour samples are sent to your home, so you can judge the tone against house, terrace and planting before you commit.
