A luxury garden shed does not announce itself with ornament – it convinces through precision and restraint. In front of the classic house of this project stands a clear, dark cuboid that neither ingratiates itself nor imposes: the deep colour makes the planting around it look stronger and gives the garden a calm, tidy backdrop, precisely because the building forgoes every decorative flourish. Premium, here, means that nothing is left to chance – from the proportions and the flush surfaces to the way the door opens. The result is a garden building that holds its own beside a carefully designed home instead of apologising for its presence.
Anthracite is the dark colour our customers choose most often – and outdoors it is also the most demanding. Conventional coatings bleach in the sun and have to be renewed at regular intervals. The HPL surface of this building, by contrast, is UV-resistant: the anthracite stays as deep as on day one, year after year, while rain simply washes dust and pollen away. Repainting is not reduced – it is eliminated altogether. That is what makes the dark tone a genuinely relaxed choice rather than a maintenance commitment.
Instead of a hinged leaf swinging outwards, a sliding door glides here in front of the façade. That saves the space an open door would otherwise claim, and it keeps access comfortable even where beds, paths or the terrace reach right up to the building. Opening it becomes a single quiet movement along the wall – a detail you notice every time you fetch a tool. Worth knowing for the planning stage: for structural reasons our sliding doors run around 6 cm set back towards the inside – a detail we take into account in the layout from the very beginning.
This building stands on an existing surface that is not perfectly level – made possible by adjustable feet. They compensate for unevenness in the ground and at the same time create ventilation underneath the structure: timber protection through construction rather than chemistry. Because the feet bridge those small differences in level, the existing surface could stay exactly as it was – no new slab, no groundwork, simply a firm, ventilated base for a precise building. The load-bearing substructure of C24 structural timber is statically calculated in accordance with Eurocode 5, so the high-end appearance rests on equally serious engineering.
The outer skin is made of HPL (high-pressure laminate) by Trespa – the material that defines every DESIGA product. It is weatherproof, frost-proof and designed for a service life of around 50 years, which is why the building will still look considered and precise decades from now. How the same idea translates into a much larger format is shown by our XXL garden shed in anthracite – the same colour, on a far more generous scale.
Whether you choose this model or another size from our garden shed range, the palette stays open: over 250 HPL colours and décors, from bright white to deep black and warm wood-effect finishes. We send free HPL samples to your home in advance, so the decision is made at your house, not on a screen.
Every DESIGA garden building is developed in-house and manufactured in Germany. We deliver across Europe, and on request our own assembly team installs the building on site – or you take it on yourself, guided by a detailed step-by-step assembly video.
