Garden shed with passageway fitting perfectly between the house and the property boundary

This garden shed with passageway is truly custom-made. With a width of 3.12 m, the structure makes use of every last centimetre of the space between the house wall and the neighbouring property. Two sliding doors turn the garden shed into a passageway: from the street side, you can walk through the garden shed directly into the garden – making a fence or garden gate unnecessary and ensuring clear access regardless of the weather.

The depth of around 3.20 m offers enough space to store bicycles, garden tools and everyday utensils. Inside, the space is optimally utilised by a space-saving, vertical bicycle rack – the storage space created not only works in terms of area, but also in terms of height.

Canopy, house entrance and storage space combined in one structure

In addition to the passageway, there was another key requirement: the entrance area of the house also had to be covered. The garden shed is therefore 3.05 m high so that the lower edge of the roof overhang is neatly above the front door. This creates a continuous canopy that protects the area in front of the entrance door and at the same time visually connects it to the garden shed.

This design was challenging in terms of planning and assembly – all height and width dimensions had to be precisely coordinated so that the passageway, canopy and storage space would function as a single structure. The result is a garden shed with a passageway that intelligently combines access, weather protection and organisation at the house entrance and fits precisely into the situation on site.
