Wood store with adjoining storage space – two functions, one unit

A firewood storage area fulfils one purpose – this project fulfils two. This bespoke combined storage solution literally kills two birds with one stone: it provides weather-protected storage for firewood and creates organised storage space in the form of a combination of a wood store and an outdoor cupboard. Finished in brilliant white, the ensemble looks just as tidy as its contents.

As if from a single mould: the modular design

The modular design of all DESIGA products allows them to be connected and combined – as has been done in this project. The design joints run at the same height throughout the entire ensemble, and the consistent design language makes the combination of firewood storage and cupboard appear as if cast from a single mould. No sense of an add-on, no stylistic inconsistencies: one structure, two functions.

The open firewood storage holds the firewood – well-ventilated, neatly organised and within easy reach; the filled wood-panelled front becomes a design feature in its own right. The large adjoining cupboard provides storage space for cushions, garden tools and pool equipment: enclosed, lockable and offering the space that is chronically lacking on patios. This creates an organised area that takes the strain off the entire outdoor space.

HPL by Trespa: white that stays white

The ensemble is made from HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) by Trespa – UV-resistant, frost-proof and rainproof. The material really comes into its own with light colours: the white does not yellow in the sun or become dull; if the surface gets dirty, a garden hose and a cloth are all that’s needed. It never needs to be painted, oiled or waterproofed – it is designed to last around 50 years. Alongside a stack of firewood, this is a key advantage: the set does not weather over time.

How much of a wood store and how much of a cupboard you need depends on your usage: we design our wood stores in terms of width, depth and height to suit your firewood consumption, available space and storage requirements – freestanding, as an extension or, as shown here, as a combination.
