This project focused on a clear objective: creating space in the garage whilst remaining flexible for everyday use. The spacious designer garden shed accommodates bicycles, garden tools and other equipment that previously blocked the garage. The base plate was deliberately made larger than the garden shed itself – the area in front of it functions as a manoeuvring zone where bicycles can be easily turned round, parked or loaded without having to veer onto the lawn. This creates a clearly structured workflow: the garage is clear, access to the garden shed is convenient, and the space for movement is clearly defined.
Visually, the customer wanted a calm, understated structure. Instead of glass panels, the decision was made to opt for a closed, minimalist design in matt grey. The minimalist front and clean edges make the garden shed appear as a homogeneous design object that blends unobtrusively into the garden. The HPL surface is designed for long-term outdoor use – UV-resistant, dimensionally stable and easy to maintain. This ensures the matt finish is retained over the long term, even with intensive use of the manoeuvring area directly in front of the garden shed.
