A mini garden shed proves that storage does not need a large plot: in this project, one compact building holds everything a small garden has to accommodate – tools, cushions for the outdoor furniture, garden equipment. The cubic form and the clean HPL façade turn the little building into a design element rather than a compromise. Instead of a plastic box tucked apologetically behind the hedge, a precise, quietly confident piece of the garden stands here – small in footprint, complete in every other respect.
Wherever every square metre counts, a garden building has to fit exactly. Built to measure, the little building uses the existing niche completely – between terrace and fence, against the house wall or in the courtyard. No series dimension that almost fits and leaves an awkward, unusable gap: width, depth and height follow the space that is actually there. That is precisely what makes the micro format work in dense surroundings – it takes the space it is given, and not a centimetre more. The result feels planned rather than parked, even on the tightest plot.
The smaller the floor area, the more the layout matters. Shelf levels make use of the height, and the position of the door ensures that every corner remains within reach – nothing disappears into an inaccessible back row, and nothing has to be unpacked first to reach the thing behind it. Used this way, the compact building replaces the crammed cellar corner and the overloaded balcony chest: the same belongings, only drier, closer to where they are used and considerably tidier. Secateurs, watering can and cushions are ready to hand in seconds instead of buried behind winter tyres. What looks minimal from the outside is, inside, a small system of order.
Even the smallest building receives the full construction quality: a weatherproof, UV-resistant HPL façade that never needs painting, a load-bearing substructure of C24 structural timber statically calculated in accordance with Eurocode 5, and adjustable feet with ventilation underneath as built-in timber protection. The material is designed for a service life of around 50 years – for a building of this size, genuinely a purchase for life. Rain washes the surface clean; the crisp edges stay crisp, year after year.
Where exactly the boundary runs between mini and small is shown in our overview of the small garden shed range; special formats are created as made-to-measure builds, planned around your niche. And if it needs to be even more compact, the outdoor tall cabinet takes the same idea down to cupboard scale. Between these options, practically every courtyard, front garden and terraced-house plot finds its precise solution – from the compact mini shed to the full walk-in format.
Small building, big effect: with over 250 HPL colours and décors to choose from, the compact body either recedes discreetly next to the house wall or sets a deliberate accent in the garden, and free samples are sent to your home so you can judge the tone against façade, fence and planting in real daylight before you decide.
Every DESIGA building is developed in-house and manufactured in Germany. We deliver across Europe, and on request our own assembly team sets the building up on site – or you assemble it yourself, guided step by step by a detailed video, whatever its size. More than 2,000 completed projects and a 5-star rating from over 220 Google reviews speak for the care that goes into each one. Is there a corner in your garden waiting to become proper storage?
