A 5 bin store is quickly justified: in a large household or a small multi-family home, general waste, paper, organics, recycling and a second general waste bin soon stand side by side. This project lines all five up behind a single, sand-coloured front in Tuscany – a warm beige that mediates between light render, natural stone and planting, exactly where grey can feel technical and black can feel hard. The waste corner becomes a friendly, planned element of the front garden. And because five compartments add up to a genuinely present volume, the choice of tone matters more here than with any smaller unit – Tuscany carries the width lightly.
Each bin has its own opening in the row. Filling happens conveniently from above via the flip lids; for collection day, the doors at the front open and each bin comes out individually – orderly, reliably and without disturbing the other four. Even at this width the front stays calm, because openings, joints and proportions are designed as one composition rather than five repetitions.
A unit used many times a day lives or dies by its mechanics. The hinges here are laser-welded – a manufacturing choice that delivers the highest precision, stable movement and permanently consistent gaps, even after many thousands of openings and years outdoors. In a piece of outdoor furniture this heavily used, exactly this detail quality marks the difference between short-lived and long-lived. You feel it every time a door swings true and a lid settles precisely into its frame – and you will still feel it years from now.
The second quality decision sits in the base. The substructure carries a KTL coating – a finish used on heavily stressed components in car manufacturing, made for corrosion protection and longevity. It is the invisible half of the build quality: what holds the five compartments in shape is protected at least as thoroughly as the surfaces you see. Longevity, in other words, is not claimed here; it is engineered in layer by layer, from the base upwards.
Around this core sits the cladding of weatherproof HPL (high-pressure laminate) by Trespa – UV-resistant, frost-proof and rain-proof. The result is a five-bin unit that is technically thought through to the end: robust, storm-proof and designed for continuous duty. The calculated service life is around 50 years, and painting or sealing is never required – the warm tone stays warm without any work on your side. Rain takes care of dust and pollen, and the closed surface gives dirt nothing to cling to.
The modern bin store is available in standard sizes and as a bespoke build for any number of bins – for 120-litre as much as 240-litre formats, on request with a letterbox, parcel compartment or doorbell. If you prefer the fully closed silhouette, our reference of the related, fully enclosed version in warm taupe shows where the same construction can go.
Tuscany itself belongs to our standard palette of seven neutral tones, and beyond it over 250 HPL colours and décors are available, from white and steel grey through to wood looks – free HPL colour samples are posted to your home in advance, so you can judge the warm beige right next to your own façade.
Like every DESIGA product, this unit is developed in-house and manufactured in Germany – and a five-bin build of this size is delivered and installed at its final position by our own team, so the laser-welded precision arrives at your home intact.
