In everyday life, it’s the ease of use that counts: the bins are filled via the hinged lids fitted on top, which lift the bin lids as they open. The bin bag can be placed into the bin with one hand – no juggling lids, no need to touch the bin itself. On collection day, the practical hinged doors at the front open, allowing the bins to roll out and back in with ease.

Weatherproof HPL on a robust substructure

The cladding consists of weather-resistant HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) from Trespa, supported by a durable substructure – together, this creates an extremely robust home for the bins. The material is UV-resistant, frost-proof and rainproof: the taupe finish does not fade in the sun, and dirt is washed away by the next rainfall. There is no need for painting, oiling or waterproofing; an estimated lifespan of around 50 years is anticipated. With an impact resistance of over 40 newtons, the enclosure can easily withstand the daily handling of four heavy bins.

Taupe: the warm alternative to grey and anthracite

The choice of colour is what makes this project special: taupe – a warm grey-brown shade – acts as a bridge between light-coloured render, natural stone and planting, where plain grey often looks too clinical.
