Wherever there’s a pool, equipment tends to accumulate: the filter system, pump, heat exchanger, plus pool noodles, air mattresses, landing nets and pool care products. This modern pool house with sliding doors shows how all of this can be tucked away right next to the pool – protected, lockable and in a design that complements the pool landscape rather than disrupting it. The cubic, grey structure stands just a few steps from the water and transforms the issue of pool equipment into a tidy, unobtrusive feature.
A pool equipment shed must be able to cope with splashes, chlorine vapour and a permanently damp environment. The façade of this pool house is made of HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) from Trespa – a material that is waterproof, UV-resistant and frost-proof. The surface does not absorb moisture, does not fade in the sun and never needs to be painted or treated. This means that even a location right next to the pool is no problem – the pool house does not age any faster than the pool itself; it is expected to last for around 50 years.
Pool equipment is valuable and needs to be protected from prying hands – especially when children are playing by the pool. In the pool house, the equipment is concealed behind a lockable door and is accessible only to you. At the same time, it remains easily accessible for maintenance and winterisation: the large sliding door provides ample access without a door leaf swinging in the way – practical on patios and along paths where every centimetre counts. When it comes to designing technical rooms, we draw on our experience from numerous projects – please do ask us for details, such as regarding air circulation for the filter system.
The basis of this project is our garden shed, which is frequently used as a pool house – rainproof, weatherproof and the recipient of multiple awards. You can choose from 12 standard sizes or have it made to measure: within the modular system, you determine the basic dimensions, windows, doors, colour and fittings yourself. The result is a pool house that fits perfectly with the size of your pool, terrace and plot – ranging from a compact equipment cupboard to a spacious structure where cushions and garden furniture can be stored over the winter. Our case study of a garden cupboard with two large sliding doors in Pforzheim also demonstrates just how easy sliding doors make access to storage space.
The grey shown here is understated, allowing the water, greenery and terrace to take centre stage. If you prefer a higher contrast, you can choose from over 250 HPL colours and finishes – from white to black, from steel grey to a wood-effect finish. We’ll send you free HPL colour samples to your home in advance so you can assess how they look next to your pool and patio flooring.
Like all DESIGA products, the pool house is developed in-house and manufactured in Germany. The load-bearing substructure consists of C24 solid structural timber, statically calculated in accordance with Eurocode 5 – the timber is protected by the design featuring adjustable feet and under-floor ventilation, not by chemicals. We deliver throughout Europe, with on-site assembly available on request. Over 2,000 completed projects and a 5-star rating from more than 220 Google reviews are testament to the care we take.
