A pool equipment shed solves the least attractive detail of any pool landscape: the filter system, the pump and the water-care chemicals all need a home – but nobody wants to look at them from the sun lounger, and nobody wants them dominating the view of the water. In this project, a slim building in anthracite houses the complete pool technology: protected from the weather, ventilated during operation and visually so calm that it stands beside the pool like a deliberate element of the garden design rather than a technical necessity. The pool stays the main event; its machinery becomes invisible.
Unlike a walk-in pool house, this housing for the pool technology concentrates on the essentials: it is exactly as deep as the system requires – and not a centimetre deeper. Large door openings ensure that filter and pump remain fully accessible for maintenance and for winterising, without anyone having to climb into the enclosure. Filter rinsed, settings checked, done – the whole system presents itself at the opened doors like a switch cabinet. That discipline in the footprint saves valuable space beside the pool and keeps the rest of the garden free.
Pool technology generates heat and works in a damp environment – a combination that quickly punishes carelessly chosen enclosures. Here, ventilation openings carry away the warmth of the running pump, while ventilation underneath the building, created by adjustable feet, keeps the structure dry from below. The housing is designed around the daily reality of its contents: air circulates, moisture escapes, and the technology inside works under the conditions it needs – season after season, without anyone having to think about it.
The façade is made of HPL (high-pressure laminate) by Trespa – waterproof and frost-proof. Splash water from the pool, chlorine-laden air and freezing winters leave no traces, and painting is never required; the material is designed for a service life of around 50 years. For a building that spends its whole life two steps from the water, that is precisely the robustness required – and it keeps its precise, clean look without any seasonal maintenance ritual.
Filter size, pump height, a salt system, accessories: every pool installation is different – which is why every pool equipment shed is built to measure. You tell us the components, and we plan the floor plan, the doors and the ventilation around them, rather than squeezing your technology into a standard box that almost fits. It draws on the same made-to-measure approach as our wider garden shed range. Openings sit where hands actually reach during maintenance, and future additions can be considered from the start. And if you are also looking for walk-in storage at the pool, our reference of a pool house with a sliding door shows the larger sister project to this one.
Over 250 HPL colours and décors are available, from the deep anthracite shown here to light tones that pick up the terrace surface or the house façade, and free samples come to your home so you can decide right at the pool edge, in real daylight, whether the housing should recede quietly into the planting or set a confident accent beside the water.
This building was developed and manufactured in Bavaria, in southern Germany. We deliver across Europe, and on request our own assembly team installs it on site – or you handle the build yourself, guided by a detailed step-by-step assembly video. The same care stands behind more than 2,000 completed projects and a 5-star rating from over 220 Google reviews. Would you like your pool technology housed properly at last?
