This design shows how modern design language and natural garden design can form a fascinating symbiosis. The exposed aggregate concrete look of the HPL panels does not appear cold at all, but rather complements the varied planting in the garden in an elegant way. As a modern garden shed, the cube provides a clear visual anchor point that emphasises the organic forms of the plant world with its geometric precision without appearing obtrusive.
A technical and practical highlight of this design is the carefully executed gravel covering on the flat roof. This layer serves far more than just an aesthetic purpose: it effectively protects the roof covering from direct UV radiation and also acts as a natural filter against dirt. Especially under trees, the gravel prevents leaves and branches from rotting directly on the waterproofing, which greatly increases the longevity of the structure. This keeps the appearance pristine for years to come, while valuable garden tools and furniture are safely protected from the elements inside.
