A log store solves one task – this project solves two at once. The made-to-measure combination pairs weather-protected firewood storage with orderly stowage space in a single build: a log store with shed compartment attached, conceived as one continuous piece. Finished in bright white, the ensemble looks as tidy as its contents – and it replaces the usual pairing of a wood pile here and an overflowing storage box there with one calm, considered solution.

As if cast in one piece: the modular concept

The modular design of all DESIGA products allows them to be joined and combined – exactly what happened here. The design joints run through the entire ensemble at the same height, and the consistent design language makes the union of log store and cupboard look as if it had been cast in one piece. No add-on character, no stylistic breaks: one building volume, two functions. Anyone walking past sees a single, precisely composed element rather than two pieces of garden furniture pushed together. That unity is what turns a practical corner into part of the garden's design.

The open log store takes the firewood – ventilated, ordered and within easy reach; the filled front of stacked logs becomes a design element in itself, warm and alive against the white frame. The large adjoining cupboard offers storage for cushions, garden tools and pool equipment: closed, lockable and with exactly the kind of space that is chronically short on terraces. Together they create an ordering zone that relieves the whole outdoor area – everything has its place, and everything is where you need it. On a winter evening you collect dry logs from the open side; in summer the cushions come out of the closed side in seconds.

HPL by Trespa: white that stays white

The ensemble is made from HPL (high-pressure laminate) by Trespa – UV-resistant, frost-proof and impervious to rain. With a pale finish, the material choice really pays off: the white does not yellow in the sun and does not dull over time; if the surface gets dirty, a garden hose and a cloth are all it takes. Painting, oiling or impregnating is never required – the material is designed for a service life of around 50 years. Standing right next to a stack of firewood, that is the decisive advantage: the ensemble does not age with the weather.

Made to measure: your firewood consumption sets the format

How much log store and how much cupboard you need is decided by the way you live: we plan width, depth and height around your firewood consumption, the available space and your storage needs – freestanding, as a lean-to against the house, or combined as shown here. If the pool equipment grows or the wood deliveries get bigger, the proportions simply follow; the format serves the household, not the other way round. Colour is part of the plan as well: alongside the white shown here, over 250 HPL colours and décors are available, from steel grey and anthracite through to wood-look finishes.
