The story of an original: From design@garten to DESGIA^®

When a DESGIA^® object arrives in your garden, on your terrace or in your architectural open space, it carries with it a story that goes far beyond its pure form. It is the result of a process that began over 15 years ago with a simple personal vision and is now expressed in a new identity.

The origin: a white garden shed

Our story begins in 2011. It was the need for clarity and consistency in our own garden that prompted us to design the first modern garden shed with an HPL façade. We were looking for an aesthetic that made no compromises – and for a material that would stand the test of time without ever losing its radiance.

This first, gleaming white garden shed still stands today. It is living proof that design can be built to last. The desire for this perfect retreat gave rise to design@garten. But the vision did not stop at the garden shed. We began to apply the same uncompromising clarity to other elements of the outdoor space. This was followed by minimalist outdoor cabinets that transform tidiness into design, elegant bin enclosures that conceal functionality aesthetically, and garden saunas that elevate the outdoor area to a private wellness oasis. Each of these products follows the same DNA: the symbiosis of architectural form and absolute weather resistance.

The essence lies in the details

At our production facility near Augsburg, we have always followed the principle that details are not just details. They are the essence. The way we process the extremely robust high-pressure laminate (HPL) is testament to the in-depth expertise we have perfected over more than a decade and a half.

One of our products is a promise: it frees you from the burden of maintenance. Where others have to sand, paint or varnish, our work gives you time. Time to enjoy your garden. This longevity is our understanding of sustainability – a product that is designed not only to withstand the years, but to endure them.

The evolution: DESGIA^®

After more than 15 years as experts in HPL, our vision has grown. We have moved beyond the garden. We create structures that complement modern architecture and shape outdoor living spaces. To live up to this claim, we have sharpened our identity.

Design@garten becomes DESGIA^®.

Our roots are in Bavaria, but our design speaks a global language. DESGIA^® is the essence of our experience. It is the name under which we develop, test and manufacture – with the same uncompromising quality standards that have driven us since 2011. Today, we deliver to the entire gardening world, from Austria to Italy, from France to Spain. But the core remains the same: we manufacture originals for people who are looking for something special and want to feel durability.
